Mark Robinson


Mark Robinson, Founder & Managing Director

Mark is engaged in origination, valuation, and negotiation of transactions, management of portfolio. Mark has 8 years experience in operations and financial services and 12 years of venture investing experience. He has led and participated in over 35 rounds of venture financing.  He combines a solid understanding of how good business models construct a realistic path to commercialization and has a keen sense of executive skills and for determining the appropriateness of new hires. He currently serves on the boards of directors for Nakina Systems, Signiant and Spectalis.              

Background
Prior to founding WAVE, Mark was a Managing Director at VIMAC Ventures where he invested in IT startups. Before that, he was a senior member of a new management team that successfully turned around Dynapower/Stratopower (a division of General Signal). Earlier in his career, Mark held positions with Bank of Boston, Legget McCall Advisors, and Fidelity Investments where he gained significant expertise in technology application to financial and accounting analytics and decision making.

Education

Mark holds an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College and a BS in Business Administration from the Whittemore School of Business & Economics at the University of New Hampshire.

Praveen Sahay


Praveen Sahay, Founder & Managing Director

Praveen is engaged in origination, valuation, and negotiation of investments and management of portfolio. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Kauffman Fellowship Program, a program designed to select, educate and train future leaders in the venture capital industry. He has 14 years of operating experience including 6 years in the energy sector plus 7 years of venture investing experience. Praveen has a quick grasp of the science that underlies business value and its appropriateness for the platform investment strategy. He currently serves on the board of directors of American Aerogel.         

Background
Prior to founding WAVE, Praveen was a Director with VIMAC Ventures, an early stage venture firm, since 1993. Before that, he was an Associate at Updata Partners, an investor in IT and communications startups. He was also a strategy consultant to technology corporations and private equity investors during his tenure at Dean & Company. Praveen has an eclectic set of experiences that include managing mutual fund retail operations, exploring for oil and gas deposits in the Arabian Sea, and leading armed troops as a Deputy Commandant in situations involving threats to industrial safety and security. He was also the National Elections Coordinator (CIVPOL) at the United Nations Operation in Mozambique where he played a key role in the country’s transition to democracy.

Education
Praveen has an MBA from the University of Chicago, a degree in Geophysics from IIT, Roorkee, an MS in Nuclear Physics, and BS in Physics from St. Stephen's College in New Delhi.

Bob Roeper



Robert C. Roeper, Founder & Managing Director

Bob is engaged in origination, valuation, and negotiation of investments and management of portfolio companies. Bo has 20 years of operating experience and 14 years of venture investing experience. He has led and participated in over 40 rounds of venture financings.  He brings a wealth of operational wisdom and an astute ability to discover core strategic issues that impact the early health of young companies. He can also articulate his insights convincingly and is an effective coach to portfolio company CEOs. He currently serves on the boards of director for Seniorlink and Trakus.  

Background
Prior to founding WAVE, Bob was a Managing Director at VIMAC Ventures which he joined in 1995. In addition to his investment activities, he also managed the firm’s operations. Earlier, he was a senior officer and director of Occam Research, a venture-funded developer of desktop data analysis software from 1989 to 1994. From 1975 to 1989, he held various senior positions in marketing and management with Colgate-Palmolive. During this period, he also helped found and manage numerous startup and global operations both in the United States and Asia.

Education
Bob holds an MBA from Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth, a BA in Economics from Muhlenberg College—and a degree in life from the United States Marine Corps.

Charles G Bridge

Charles G Bridge, Chief Financial Officer

Charlie is responsible for the oversight of the finance and administration activities, information technology and financial reporting to the Limited Partners. Charlie has over ten years of experience in private equity finance and administration. He currently serves on the boards of director for the Rain Forest Ariel Trams and the Rain Forest Ariel Tram of Dominica.

Background

From 2000, Charlie was with Boston Capital Ventures, a leading venture capital firm where he served as CFO. Starting in 2003 Charlie helped found Brooke Private Equity Advisors and was involved in all financial and administrative matters surrounding five successive partnerships. Prior to Boston Capital Ventures Charlie spent several years with the Wellesley Group as CFO.

Charlie is a member of the Treasurers' Club of Boston and the Private Equity CFO association.

Education

Charlie received a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from The University of Maine, and a MBA from Northeastern University.
